Hi Masatoshi,

Current document is SkyNodeInterface-0.6.pdf and I have significant
objections to it, many as I have already stated regarding the original
version.

The document wraps too much into a single spec. VOQL has been split out but
this doc still contains Open SkyQuery Portal which is inappropriate as an
IVOA standard; we do not need a portal standard. Even if we did, it should
not be included in the SkyNode spec.

I understand the intention to present an architectural whole but this could
be done in a Note which cross-refers to the individual specs.

What is the intention of the SkyNode interface? Is it to be the *only* way
in which any VOQL query can be submitted? Does every data query service have
to implement this interface? If not, what others are there and where do they
fit in?

Even the SkyNode interface wraps up too much: Wil has already proposed a
standard 'service' interface and I think this needs to be worked on first
before SkyNode can even be considered. I think the SkyNode spec will then
need to be radically worked on before it can go forward even as a proposed
standard.

Cheers,
Tony.

If you have comments (objections) to this document, please circulate your
comment(s) to our mail exploder list (voql at ivoa.net). If I see no major
objections before 0000 hours ,January 24th, (GMT), I will forward this
document to the IVOA executive committee for their approval.

Because I received no major objections to our another working document on
the SkyNode (the document is SkyNodeInterface-0.5.pdf), I would like to
approve the SkyNode document in our group.

If you agree with me (or you show no objections to do so), I would like to
send two documents to the IVOA executive committee as proposed
Recommendation documents.

Any comments ?

Cheers,

    Masatoshi
