Hi,
I am not sure that I can speak for the Catalog working group, but I can
present a VO Catalog model which has been proposed and is not (apparently)
at odds with the other models presented by the WG.
This catalog model is built for the purposes of being queried,
holding a wide selection of the data which are present in the VO, is developed
so that it can overlay a series of SQL tables/databases (e.g. SkyNodes
accessed by ADQL), and can eventually be used in conjunction
with other VO DM components (and as well a planned advanced form of UCDs
.."UCD3").
The query mechanism for this catalog is made in terms of "XQuery+" (an
extended form of the standard XQuery). I can try to fit this all in to 10 min
presentation.
Some materials (all which is older, and not terribly organized at the moment,
and which I am in the process of updating) for this model may be found at :
http://archive.astro.umd.edu/VOCatalog
and
http://archive.astro.umd.edu/NX_api/index.html
I shall also be presenting a poster on this work at the ADASS meeting which
proceeds the IVOA.
Thanks,
=brian
