One of the strengths of the IVOA process has been that discussions  
are public (sometimes tediously so :–)

This is quite refreshing after following the time wars and now the  
planetary wars (dwarf or otherwise), in which it seems that various  
interests aren't only special, but sometimes unfathomably peculiar.

As the IVOA (and national VO) processes are stressed by the need to  
demonstrate progress, visibility into those processes will be  
endangered.  Many thanks, indeed, for the powerpoint and STC (well,  
STC-like) examples, but the motivation behind these options is pretty  
opaque at the moment.  I guess for Roy, too.

Awaiting enlightenment.   Ommmm...
