One important point to keep in mind is that the Cone Search Specification 
is just a demo constructed for the purpose of exercising the issues that 
must be addressed by VO applications.  It's not intended to be a long-term 
standard nor necessarily the makings of one.  Thus, adopting a very simple 
standard, simpler than ASU, makes sense for rapid prototyping.  The 
expected lifetime of the demos that will come out of this is about a year.
